Postgraduate Symposium
Friday 17th August, Loughborough University
As a dedicated part of the larger conference to be held 16-20th August 2012, The Tolkien Society is hosting a postgraduate symposium on Friday 17th August covering all aspects of Tolkien Studies.
The symposium presents a unique opportunity for postgraduates across different disciplines to share their research and scholarship, be it linguistics, literature, history, art, film or cultural studies. Selected papers will be invited for later publication. The symposium is led by an international interdisciplinary team of academics: Martin Barker, Dimitra Fimi and Corey Olsen. Following the symposium participants will have the opportunity to attend the Tom Shippey plenary session of the main conference.
The cost is £40 (including lunch) for postgraduate scholars, or free for those postgraduates taking full conference registration, currently £75. Please book early to avoid disappointment as symposium places are limited. Student accommodation and breakfast is available at the conference rate on both the Thursday and Friday evenings: see booking form.
